The Corona pandemic hit the entire event industry hard. Within a very short time, all public events were cancelled and a vital industry fell into agony.
For more than two years, each theatre has been struggling individually with the constantly changing regulations and has been trying - in cooperation with regulatory authorities and health authorities from outside the industry - to work out responsible and feasible concepts to get the urgently needed cultural life back on its feet as soon as possible.
Constantly changing requirements that have to be implemented within a very short time cost organisers and local authorities a lot of nerves.
Even if all guidelines and regulations are relaxed at the moment, we will have to deal with concepts again next autumn at the latest.
At the beginning of the pandemic, we were all shocked by the studies that demanded a distance of 6 metres for singers and 2 to 3 metres for orchestra musicians. In the meantime, a lived pragmatism has prevailed, which of course is also paired with a good portion of "will-be-safe".
In addition, all those responsible despair of the changing requirements for vaccination protection and the implementation of 2G / 2G+ / 3G / 3G+ also for the employees on and off the stage.
This should and must be put on a foundation that offers all participants practicable possibilities to be able to act on stage again without endangering their health.
